Sneak Peek of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator

For generations, Jeep has been a symbol of what SUVs are capable. So, what would happen if Jeep made a pickup truck? Turns out, they did.

The Jeep Gladiator was a full member of the Jeep lineup from 1962 to 1988, and now, it’s back. To show you what you can expect from it, Stateline Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram gives drivers in Somerset, New Bedford, and Fall River a sneak peek of the 2020 Gladiator.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Design

While previous generations of the Gladiator experimented with different looks, the upcoming 2020 model will feature a design that’s similar to its most famous SUV.

Rather than featuring a crew cab with a truck bed directly behind the front seats like its ancestors, this new pickup will have four doors, two rows of seats, and look like the current Jeep Wrangler with a truck bed attached to it.

Up front you’ll see the iconic Jeep grille with six vertical bars bordered by two circular headlights. Underneath there’s a durable bumper that leads down to its skid plates.

Moving along the sides, you’ll instantly notice the rugged 33-inch all terrain tires that this truck rolls on. Between them there’s a cabin that looks and acts like the Wrangler’s. You can customize this Jeep by taking the doors off and choosing between a hard and soft top.

Behind the interior, you’ll be able to carry lots of cargo with a versatile truck bed that features a convenient 3-position tailgate.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Performance

Like all Jeep models, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator will possess a lot of power. Under the hood, you’ll have a 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine that gets up to 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. In addition to this exciting base engine, a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 that gets up to 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque.

A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on the base powertrain, but an 8-speed automatic will be available with both engines.

The Gladiator can use this power to help you carry a heavy payload or haul a trailer or boat with you on your next vacation. It has a best-in-class payload capacity of 1,600 pounds and a best-in-class towing capacity of up to 7,650 pounds.

Drivers who love going off-roading will love hearing that this pickup doesn’t just look like the Wrangler, it can get you up, over, and through terrain like the Wrangler too.

The 33-inch tires give it a high ground clearance, while its FOX shocks, Electronic Disconnecting Front Sway Bar, and Tru-Lok® Electronic Locking Front and Rear Differentials give you the freedom to go practically anywhere.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Interior

Inside, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator offers a comfortable ride and lots of technology. Next to your leather-wrapped steering wheel, you’ll find an available 8.4-inch touchscreen in your dashboard.

This is the home of the Uconnect® 4C NAV system. It keeps you on the best route and lets you sync up with your smartphone with Apple CarPlay™ or Android Auto™.

On top of the standard rear backup camera, this system can also help you out when you’re off-roading. An available TrailCam Off-Road Camera faces forward and give you a low view and project path of where your tires will go.
