Durango Performance and Engines
The Durango offers a 3.6-liter V6 engine as the standard engine. With the single exhaust, the engine generates 293 horsepower, and with the dual exhaust, the engine generates 295 horsepower. Torque for both is 260 lb-ft. You can upgrade to a range of V8 engines, starting with a 5.7-liter HEMI® that produces 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque.
From there, the engines are all about performance. The 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 boasts 475 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque, which is available with the SRT model. The range-topper is a supercharged 6.2-liter that boasts 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque and a 3.5-second 0 to 60 MPH runtime with a top speed of 180 MPH.
The Durango can also tow between 7,200 pounds and 7,400 pounds, depending on the configuration. An optional tow package increases the towing capacity to 8,700 pounds.
Durango Technology
The Durango comes with a 7-inch touchscreen and an intuitive Uconnect® infotainment system that offers a straightforward menu and easy-to-use inputs. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration are included, which allow you to stream music and media from your phone to the onboard system. Satellite radio, voice recognition, Bluetooth® connectivity, and multiple USB ports are also standard. Wireless device charging, Harman Kardon® audio, and Amazon Alexa connectivity are optional.
Numerous safety features are available, including adaptive cruise control, a feature that adjusts your cruising speed to stay with the flow of traffic on the highway. Forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking is also optional, which alerts you to frontal collisions and applies the brakes automatically to lessen the impact. Rain-sensing wiper blades and parking sensors are available.
Durango Interior
The Durango offers space for five people in two rows in the base model. All other models have three rows with space for seven people. You can swap the second-row bench for dual captain's chairs for a capacity of six people. Getting in and out is easy, thanks to the chairs that fold and tumble forward for access to the third row.
With the seats upright, the Durango possesses 17.2 cubic feet of space for luggage and shopping bags. With the third row folded flat, space will expand to 43.3 cubic feet. With both rear rows folded, the maximum capacity is 85.1 cubic feet. You'll find numerous bins and cubbies in the cabin for small-item storage.
